The Mercy Athletic Performance Center was created to provide the lakeshore area with professional strength and movement instruction for athletes, and is the lakeshore’s premier performance enhancement location. Our programs are designed with the athlete in mind and works to improve your performance and reduce your risk of injury. We offer several options for athletes, based on one’s sport and physical ability.

Our staff at the Mercy Athletic Performance Center wants you to be the best you can be. We offer a wide variety of programs to help you accomplish your goals. You will learn proper movement patterns and lifting techniques. The training protocols for athletes include interval treadmill running, ground-based functional training, including plyometrics, strength training, and resistance cord exercises. These protocols work to improve:

    • Sprint speed and overall quickness
    • Agility for enhanced directional changes
    • Body control and balance
    • Strength and power for more enhanced game play

While we strive to promote athletic ability, prevent injury, and provide a positive environment for our youth, the future success and well being of our participants will always be our top priority.

In addition to providing professional performance enhancement service, the Mercy Athletic Performance Center is dedicated to serving the lakeshore community as a valued resource for parents, coaches, and youth-sports organizations seeking to better themselves for the benefit of their athletes.

The Mercy Athletic Performance Center employs Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS’s). The CSCS’s are professionals who apply scientific knowledge to train athletes for the primary goal of improving athletic performance. They conduct sport-specific testing sessions, design and implement safe and effective strength training and conditioning programs and provide guidance regarding nutrition and injury prevention. Professionals from a variety of professional backgrounds hold this prestigious credential. This diverse group includes strength coaches, athletic trainers, physical therapists, and personal trainers. The CSCS is the only strength training and conditioning certification to be nationally accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) and has been nationally accredited since 1993. The CSCS is the “gold standard” credential of strength and conditioning coaches.
